Maya each of them has its own language. Two other minority communities
also inhabit the country, Xinca of mysterious origins of the Pacific Coast and
Garifuna descendants of black slaves from Africa to the Pacific coast (Livingston). The
rest of the population is composed of ladino (mestizo) whose main language is Spanish
(Castellano) descendants of Spanish settlers, or result of interbreeding between Spanish and Mayan.
