Airports Reopening in Central America

What is the situation in Central America airports ?

Since march 15th, 2020 & because of the Covid-19, Central America is on hold, but the first strong signs of deconfinement signs have been launched by various governments in the region.

On this July 8, 2020, Central America is gradually revealing its deconfinement plan with the reopening of most airports between the end of July & the beginning of September. The announcements made by the different government could change depending on the health status of each country. Below, you will find detailed information for each country.

We will keep you informed in the coming weeks & months of the evolution of the situation in the region and we will update the information country by country hoping soon to be able to welcome travelers.

Guatemala

Guatemala has not yet given any indication regarding the reopening of La Aurora Airport.

Belize

Belize announced the reopening of Philip Golson Airport on August 15, 2020.

Honduras

Honduras has announced the reopening of its international airports for the month of August.

The international airports of Honduras are: Toncontin (Tegucigalpa), Ramon Villeda Morales (San Pedro Sula) and Juan Manuel Galvez (Roatan)

El Salvador

El Salvador has announced the reopening of San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez Airport (known as “Comalapa”) on August 6, 2020.

Mexico

International airports in Mexico (notably Mexico City and Cancun) are opened (with flights to Europe and North America) although traffic is still limited.
