Upon arrival at Guatemala City international airport, our friendly english speaking driver is waiting for you at the airport with a welcome sign. After a quick briefing, he takes you to your hotel in the lovely town of La Antigua Guatemala (1:30).

Today, be ready for a unforgettable adventure ! Your private driver will take you to San Francisco village (01:30) to hike up Pacaya Volcano (level moderate), an active one which often spew ash, smoke, and lava. Your local guide will take you its foothills, through pine forests, and to an area of lava rock and ash where hot steam escapes from the ground. On a clear day, you will enjoy beautiful views on nearby volcanoes and the Pacific lowlands. This hike is ideal to prepare for the next day hike !

Instead of Pacaya volcano, our guests love the villages nearby Antigua bike tour. Pick the activity your prefer 😉

Today, be ready for a unforgettable adventure, the Acatenango overnight hike. A must to do during a trip to Guatemala !  With an elevation of 3976 meters it is the third highest volcano in Central America & offer dramatic views over the active Fuego volcano !

This morning you will meet your group at 07:30am & will leave Antigua around 09:00 for the village of La Soledad where you will start the trek. The trail up Volcan Acatenango has four distinct microclimates, each of which will take you about an hour to traverse : local farm fields, tropical cloud forest, tropical dry forest & a sand and gravel trail dotted with pine trees.  As we approach the summit, the surface get rocky with a cold wind passing over Acatenango’s peak .

Overnight camping

Early wake up to enjoy spectacular views & if you feel like again hiking up again until the summit, you won’t be disappointed  the sunrise over the Guatemalan highlands with a 360 degrees view is just magical !

Then you will head back down (3:00) to the base of the volcano & from there back by minivan to Antigua late morning. Take your time to enjoy a well deserved shower & lunch time. Early afternoon, your driver will meet you at your hotel & will drive you to Atitlan a huge crater lake surrounded by mountains and three volcanoes, are dominated by traditional Mayan families. the lake is also the home of Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s Little Prince:  as the author took away much inspiration and symbolism from the lake.

Boat transfer to you hotel

Today, you will discover lake Atitlan off the beaten paths with great outdoor adventures combining hiking & kayaking (or biking if you prefer) in Santa Cruz area. In the afternoon, you will visit San Juan la Laguna & will know more about Mayan traditions visiting art galleries, woman’s weaving cooperatives, a medicinal and curative plant garden & local artists.

Today you will head on the pacific coast to EL PAREDON (03:00), an intimate & laid-back destination located on a beautiful & untouched volcanic black-sand beach with volcanoes on the background. This tranquil fisherman village became the best surf spot in the country with consistent waves throughout the year. Travelers love the chill vibe of El Paredon & the numerous activities : Surf, Kayak, Paddle board, Mangrove tour , Cooking Classes, Yoga & the last but not the least the release of baby turtles every morning from august to December.

Be sure to be on the beach at the end of the day to enjoy spectacular sunset !
